The Comenius Project
Comenius is aimed at schools, colleges and local authorities across Europe
The Comenius Programme is named after Jan Amos Comenius (1592-1670), often considered the father of modern education
Comenius has two main objectives:
- To develop knowledge and understanding among young people and education staff of the diversity of European cultures and languages, and the value of this diversity
- To help young people to acquire basic life skills and competences for their personal development, and for future employment for active European citizenship.
Morpeth Road Primary Academy has been involved with the Comenius project for the last few years and it has been a great success both to the staff and to the pupils. We have been associated with a number of countries such as Lithuania, Malaysia, France Germany, Italy, Holland, Czech Republic, and Finland. Below are just a few of the comments that we have received from some of the countries involved.
